REPEX
REPEX stands for Repeated Endrange Passive Exercise. Our Edgemere and Physicians clinics in El Paso, Texas feature it for people with spine pain, using repetitive and end-range movements to influence the location and intensity of pain that arises from the spine.
Designed by Robin McKenzie
The REPEX was designed by Robin McKenzie, a world renowned physical therapist recognized internationally as an authority on the diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain and neck pain.
Its therapeutic effects are based on the McKenzie Method, which uses repetitive and end-range movements to influence the location and intensity of spine pain.
What the machine does
Repeated motion
Provides up to ten cycles per minute of flexion, extension or both.
Distraction
Adds a component of distraction to the spine during these motions, to create less pressure in the spinal column during treatment.
Progressive end-range exercise
By applying progressive repeated endrange exercises, patients can frequently experience a rapid centralization, reduction or abolition of pain.
Who benefits from REPEX
Your therapist decides whether it fits your problem.
- Patients who benefit from repeated movements through pain centralization
- Patients who have difficulty performing repeated exercises independently because of cervical, upper extremity or strength issues
